Customer since December 2014
Turtle Bay was launched in 2010 with the aim of bringing customers fresh food with a cool Caribbean vibe.
With a menu inspired by culinary beach shacks, street vendors and the authentic jerk pit grill, visitors are promised an authentic taste of the Caribbean without buying a plane ticket.
Consumer brands specialist Piper invested £6m into Turtle Bay in 2013, helping the company reach 43 sites in the UK and two in Germany.
Turtle Bay already had 13 existing restaurants and was about to embark on a substantial national expansion plan when Waste Source first made contact in December 2014. At the time, all these sites were managed by a rival national provider but the Turtle Bay team had concerns they were not getting value for money.
We took on a single site to begin with, in Walthamstow in North East London, and a mutually beneficial relationship grew from there. By the end of 2015, we were successfully managing 10 sites. Turtle Bay continued to grow in 2016 and 2017, opening another 20 restaurants.
In 2018, Waste Source conducted a full review of collections at Turtle Bay sites. A dedicated account manager worked to refine collections and increase recycling, with our findings discussed at board level. The net result was a 26% reduction in spend. All sites now have general waste, mixed recycling, food and glass collection.
